About Rumour
Rumour came about when Miranda Wageman of Geeveston in Southern Tasmania sat in one night with Mike Peters at a regular jam session at the Franklin Tavern in Franklin Tasmania. Although from wildly different musical and social backgrounds the two musicians hit it off.
They began to rehearse together just for fun and soon realised something special was happening. Not only did they click so well musically but their voices, one as Australian as Slim Dusty and the other with a strong Dutch accent - actually blended together beautifully.
They continued to rehearse and began to record together in Mike's Franklin studio. The grand piano and the violin seem made for each other (with some Hammond organ, bass and drums thrown in when required).
They are now well into recording their first CD as 'Rumour' and continue to sharpen their live skills at their old stomping ground the Franklin Tavern. If you're passing through downtown southern Tasmania on a Sunday afternoon - and you could do worse - that is the place to see them. |
